Last year Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters attempted to clean up our local mangroves. They were in a disastrous state filled with dumped rubbish. On World Oceans Day they pulled out 2.9 tonnes of in 5 hours and only got 1km completed out of the 3kms. The battle against plastic is ruining the local habitat and especially such important mangrove habitat is not over. So this May 4th, why not head up to Port Stephens and lend a hand to a great cause.

What to do next?

After you are done why not head over and see us and get the adrenalin pumping. You can slide down the mammoth dunes on an unlimited sandboarding tour. Our fleet of modern, custom-built vehicles can cater for groups of any size.

Where are we located?

Our beach office is set up at the very end of James Paterson Street Anna Bay, Port Stephens, you can’t miss our eye-catching ‘zebra’ truck and bright green and jet black custom-built transport vehicles ready to give you the experience of a lifetime!

Tell me about the dunes!

The dunes stretch 32 kilometres, that’s the entire length of Stockton Beach and can reach over 30 metres high. The views alone are spectacular. Once on the dunes, our team will give you a rundown on a sandboard and how to use our hand made custom designed boards for maximum speed (and safety!)

How many times can slide?

You can climb to the top of the dunes, jump on your sandboard, slide on down, then repeat until you are too exhausted to do it anymore! Your ticket includes unlimited sandboarding (or unlimited fun!) so you can stay and play as long as you like. For most people that’s about 1 – 1.5 hours. When you are done just jump back aboard our 4WD buses (they leave every half an hour) to be taken back to the Birubi Beach starting point.

Don’t forget your, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a camera as you’ll want to take lots of photos.
